An interview with Michael Geraci
TCJ – Tell us about your family.
Geraci – I am a Native Texan and I grew up between Houston and Galveston in the small suburban City of El Lago near NASA. It is a town much like Trophy Club, minus the Country Club. My wife, Melissa and I have been married for 16 years and we are members at Gateway Church. We have two wonderful children, Haylie and Brennen who are [currently] students at Medlin and Beck.
TCJ – When did you move to Trophy Club?
Geraci – We moved to Trophy Club almost 4 years ago to be closer to work, and it was a great decision. Trophy Club is an amazing place to live.
TCJ – What is your occupation?
Geraci – I have been in the Corporate Real Estate, Construction, and Consulting industry for over 20 years. I am currently the Director of Business Development for a team of firms in Las Colinas. My current duties focus on business to business marketing, strategic goals, partnerships, and contract reviews. Prior to my current duties I spent most of my career focusing on evaluating various capital expenditures versus operational expenditures on facility investments.
TCJ – What college did you go to?
Geraci – I graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a degree in Construction Science.
TCJ – Do you have any hobbies?
Geraci – Spending time with my family, water skiing, and just about every outdoor sport.
TCJ – What is your reason for serving on the Council?
Geraci – After being in the military and in civilian life, I missed serving my fellow citizens. It is just how God wired me. I wanted to continue to serve, in fact, I believe it is our duty as citizens to serve and that is why I ran for town council.
What proud accomplishments have you made while serving the town?
Geraci – I just recently started my term so I look forward to positively contributing to our town. I am proud that we recently created the homestead exemption. I was also nominated to be the Town Council liaison for Parks and Recreation, and I look forward to working with them to maintain and expand the wonderful amenities our town offers.
TCJ – What do you think are the future challenges facing the town?
Geraci – Parts of our town have infrastructure assets which are approaching the end of their useful life. Our challenges ahead will need to focus on growing a health tax base in order to replace those assets and maintain our town’s incredible amenities.
Would you like to add anything?
Geraci – Trophy Club has been an incredible town for us and I look forward to contributing back to the town.
